Our Vision
While being born more than half century ago, European Movement had an important role and continues to have one even today in the building process of Europe. This is a Movement which could gather different political and social streamlines, which despite their different approaches, could unite around the ideology of united Europe. The Movement was based on the values which were universal. These values are peace, democracy, respect towards human rights and fundamental freedoms as well as the rule of law which, in essence, shall be a guardian and guarantor of the above specified values. Friendship and tolerance are an indivisible part of these values as well, which ensure peacefulness of joint life in the societies, nations and states. 
A person-individual and human dignity is in the center of our values, which is not a subject of alienation. Since the end of World War II, European countries adopted the way of remaining loyal to universal values. The values are European as Europe which has a contribution in the formation of those values could preserve and spread them. 
After regaining its independence, Armenia became a subject of international relations enjoying full rights, which provided our country with an opportunity to take steps towards integration into European family and to be a part of European value system, in which our country has its own contribution with its centuries old history and culture. In this context, going back to an earlier period, it’s necessary to name David the Invincible (V-Vi c.) as an individual developing Armenian philosophical thought and a figure of neo-Plato, Hellenist philosophical school. It’s also worth mentioning the Code of Law by Mkhitar Gosh (XII c.), which was assumed to regulate social life through legislative measures. Returning to new historical era, we shall note that in the parliament of the first state of Armenia there were three women, while during the same period in many European countries women had no right to be elected. It’s also worth mentioning the fact that in some of the European regions Christianity was sawed through Armenian clergymen, such as Saint Blaise and Saint Servatius. 
 We are convinced that our values are European, however, in our daily life; in the scope of our habits these values are absent very often. Thus, we are eager to raise these values in our society, which will give a new quality to social, political and economic relations present in our country. In particular, the loopholes in political and economic spheres can be eliminated through implementation of effective management methods, which will remove the habits which became stereotypes prohibiting the development and progress of civil society. 
On behalf of EMA, we succeeded in the process of representing our country and society to the institutions of European Movement International and European Union.
EMA performs its activity on an unofficial platform in the social diplomatic field. With this regard, the organization assists in increasing the effectiveness of European integration processes. 
Moving forward by the way of European integration, we shall modernize our state based on principles of fair and free competition within a legal state’s market economy. 
European Union unifies nations, each of which has its own cultural peculiarities and uniqueness. And among the states’ community, an identity of each nation is respected as a composing part of European identity. This is the slogan of European Union in the diversity of unity, which reflects the philosophy of European nations’ society. Through becoming a member of this family and being a part of European unity, Armenia can definitely enrich cultural diversity of this big family.
