European Union is a global actor. Nowadays the population of the EU is 500 million. The share of the European Union in the international trade is the biggest. The help that European Union provides to the poor and developing countries is quite big, and its input is bigger than any other country has made.
Even in the beginning of its formation, after World War II, the main goal of the European Communities, later the European Union was uniting European states, nations and people for peace. 
Nowadays one of the main goal of the European Union is assuring peace and safety outside its borders.
For this purpose a single foreign and security policy was developed, which is directed to the consolidation of stability and the creation of a favorable atmosphere for mutual understanding and collaboration.
European Union is a great example of political, economic and cultural collaboration and incorporation, as well as the joint treatment of present potential.
